How can I make my cowboy boots fit better? there like a half size too big?

There Georgia brand boots, I usually wear a 12 but these fit kinda big on me. I put a pair of dr.Scholls gel insoles in them, its a little better but my foot still slips off the heel, more so on the left the boot. Any ideas? Maybe I should ebay them and look for a 11.5 instead.
