Evan Schmidt asked: Rugged Luxury - Crocodile Leather Cowboy Boots
What man alive doesn’t wish they lived in the Wild West when it was still wild? We’re not talking wild fires and oil spouts here. We’re talking cowboy boots and tumbleweeds. A manly man’s paradise where rules were meant to be broken, the arm of the law is passing you a beer, and western boots with spurs were the norm.
Back then, lucchese boots were like Nike and horses were the daily driver. Sure, some things have changed quite a bit since those dusty days…. but some things will always stay the same.
For instance, the idea of the cowboy. The cowboy is still a symbol of raw masculinity. Strong, tough and willing to shoot it out with invading marauders. Women love them, men admire them and movie producers write about them.
And, even today, a person so inclined can tap into the allure of the cowboy/cowgirl without having to hack off a crocodile head or shoot at “savages”. A man living in New York or a woman in Florida can catch the “cool” of the lifestyle, without moving to Texas.
How? Two words: rugged luxury. And more specifically, genuine leather crocodile boots.
Rugged luxury is the latest trend in fashion and it’s moving faster than a crocodile tail in the Mississippi. The idea paradoxical, and that’s part of where the trend is getting its strength. You can be as tough as a crocodile belly and still look as cool as frozen cave man.
For example, items like lucchese crocodile boots (made of genuine crocodile leather) serve two purposes:
They “tap into” the cowboy symbolism and loudly state I Am Man. They show a highly developed sense of luxury.
When I say luxury here, I don’t mean fashionable. Fashions come and go. Luxury is rock solid because it actually makes a statement. The foreman that walks on site with crocodile leather boots on makes and entirely different statement than the Gen-Xer wearing the latest Ice Cream sneakers. Luxury has longevity while fashion changes with the seasons.
Crocodile cowboy boots grab the reigns of luxury so well because the idea of the cowboy will never disappear. The roots are too deeply planted in the psyche of America. And, just like every other symbol, just the sight of a common prop used by the archetype triggers a feeling. Think the Sherlock Holmes type pipe. Or the Jazz era top hat… slightly slanted to the side.
So, if you want to trigger a feeling of strength, ruggedness, and courage when other men and women look at you, use the rugged luxury of crocodile cowboy boots to your advantage.
